RTV Paint – Define Colour Book Library Location standard

The RTV Paint application will look in a user defined folder location for any colourbook files (.acb) from various paint manufacturers which can then be accessed and displayed through the RTV Paint user interface. When installing the RTV Paint plug-in you are provided with various manufacturers colourbooks which will be located in the default colourbook folder location on your machine as per below path. C:\Program Files\RTV Tools\Paint version\RTV Paint Colour Books You may already have other colourbook files that you use which can either be added to the default Colourbook folder or you can point the RTV Tools plug-in to any other user defined folder on your network instead. RTV Paint – Using the Colour Picker standard

With RTV Paint you can select predefined colours from the various manufacturers colour book files or you can use the Colour Picker to select your own user defined colour from the colour wheel.  The RTV Paint app will then find the closest matching colour from the current colour book chart along with similar and complimentary colours. RTV Paint – Selecting a Colour standard

With RTV Paint you can select predefined colours from the various manufacturers colour book files or you can use the Colour Picker to select your own user defined colour from the colour wheel. The paint manufacturers colour book files must reside in the Colourbook folder location you define from the settings menu in order for them to be displayed in the Colourbook library drop down selector. To select a pre-defined colour launch the RTV Paint plug-in. RTV Paint – Load selected colour to Revit Material Library standard

Once you have selected your desired colour you can choose whether or not to define a Name Prefix value, include similar colours, include Complimentary colours and to load as a wall paint material by ticking the checkboxes accordingly on the user interface prior to loading it in to your Revit Project. Click the Load Selected Colours button which will then add the colours to your current Revit Project material Browser to be used in your project. You can then check your Revit Material Browser to confirm the new materials have been added.

RTV Paint – View Revit Project Materials standard

From the RTV Paint User Interface you can query and list all of the existing materials present in your current Revit project by clicking the View Revit Materials button. You can use the search filter field by typing in the name of a material or keyword which will then dynamically filter the material list making it quicker and easier to locate a material. You can also select a Revit material from the list and click the Delete button which will then proceed to delete the Revit Material from your current Revit Project. RTV Paint – Product Information standard

Once you have selected your desired colour you can define Product Information values by clicking on the Product Information button from the user interface prior to loading it in to your Revit Project. The Product Information button is the button with the blue information icon located at the bottom right corner of the user interface. On the Product Information dialog box you can enter additional values as required prior to loading in to your Revit Project as shown below. When you go to the Materials Identity Tab on the Revit Material Browser you will see the Product Information data entered as per below.

RTV Paint – Check for Updates standard

RTV Tools are constantly adding new features and enhancements to our products to cater for end user requests and functionality therefore it is a good idea to regularly check for any product updates that may be available. To do so just launch RTV Paint and from the main interface go to the Settings Menu and click the Check for Updates. Paint will then check with the RTV Tools website if a newer build number of your product is available and then display a dialog box similar to below advising if your product is up to date or if there is an update available for you to download.
